Danieli Winery Kisi Qvevri – Georgian orange wine

Exceptional orange wine from the family winery Danieli Winery. This wine is made from 100% of the Kisi grape variety. The grapes come from the prestigious Argokhi micro-zone in western Kakheti, where they are hand-picked. Fermentation takes place along with the stems, seeds and skins in qvevri vessels where the wine macerates for a full 6 months underground.

The orange Kisi Qvevri wine impresses with its amber hue and rich aroma. Honey, dried apricots, pears, quince, apples and subtle vanilla notes can be found on the nose. On the palate it is slightly creamy, with balanced tannins, medium alcohol and a lingering aftertaste of dried fruit with honey accents.

Danieli Winery was established in 2013 with the aim of producing authentic Georgian wines using traditional methods. The winery is located in the northeastern part of the Kakheti region, above the Alazani River. The vineyards are managed using organic methods and with an emphasis on sustainable practices. Production incorporates both ancient techniques of fermentation in qvevri clay pots and modern European influences.
