Danieli Winery Kisi Kvevri – 6-bottle case of orange wine from the Argokhi micro-zone

Danieli Winery was founded in 2013 with the aim of making authentic Georgian wines using traditional methods. The winery is based in north-eastern Kakheti above the Alazani River, where the vineyards are farmed using organic and sustainable methods. Kisi grapes from the Argokhi micro-zone are harvested entirely by hand and ferment together with stems, seeds, and skins directly in qvevri, where the wine macerates for six months — a process that gives Kisi its characteristic amber hue and rich structure. Production thus combines the ancient technique of fermenting in clay vessels with subtle modern European influences.

• Colour: amber.
• Nose: honey, dried apricots, pears, quince, apples, vanilla.
• Palate: lightly creamy, balanced tannins, moderate alcohol, a long finish of dried fruit with honeyed accents.
