Juso’s Winery is run by brothers Lasha and Giorgi Khvedelidze, who carry on the work of their grandfather Juso, growing native Georgian varieties on their small vineyards in Kakheti the slow, traditional way, never trading quality for quantity. Natural wine means returning to winemaking’s most original form — no added sulphites, no filtration, no artificial treatments. The Saperavi grapes mature in clay qvevri buried deep in the ground, a method eight thousand years old, giving the resulting wine a raw, unadulterated flavour with a unique character in every batch.

Tasting profile

• Colour: deep, indistinct garnet, possibly slightly hazy.
• Nose: ripe blackberries, blackcurrant and dried plums, with a light hint of smoke and wild herbs.
• Palate: raw, pronounced, with firm yet elegant tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, warm finish touched with pomegranate.
