Short description
Kindzmarauli is one of Georgia’s best-known wines. It comes from a small, precisely defined area near Kvareli, where Saperavi grows at the foot of the Caucasus. Large differences between day and night temperatures let the grapes reach high sugar levels. A set of six is practical for celebrations and holidays, where most guests will appreciate a semi-sweet wine.
The winemaker adds no sugar: fermentation is halted by chilling the must, so part of the grape sugar (18–45 g/l) stays in the wine. Because of its fame, imitations exist – learn how to distinguish a real Kindzmarauli from a fake.
What it tastes like
