Among Georgia’s red grapes, Saperavi holds a special place. It is a teinturier variety – its flesh is as dark as its skin, so the wine gains its deep colour naturally. The Georgian name says it all: “saperavi” means “dye”. Six bottles in one set will last for many evenings or cover a bigger celebration.

Behind the wine is the Old Kakheti brand of the KTW group, working with grapes from selected Kakhetian vineyards and combining traditional methods with modern cellar equipment. Oak maturation softens the wine and gives it notes of sweet spice.

What it tastes like

• Colour: rich crimson
• Nose: black berries, sweet spice, pronounced varietal character
• Palate: harmonious, with a gentle grip and a clean finish

At the table
