Rahat lokum, often simply called “lokum” or Turkish delight, is a traditional sweet originating in the Middle East that has gradually spread around the world – including the Caucasus, where this mix from producer Grand Candy comes from. Its base is a mixture of sugar and starch, boiled for a long time until it forms a thick, elastic mass, giving lokum its characteristic gel-like, chewy texture. Precisely because it can be flavoured with almost anything – fruit extracts, rose water, nuts – there are so many different varieties of lokum, and a mix is a great way to try several at once.

The sugar and starch mixture is boiled for a long time until thick and elastic, then left to set and cut into cubes. These are then coated in powdered sugar so they stay soft and don’t stick together – true of this mixed version too, where several different pieces meet in one pack.
